'Control' Articles

Control is a human obsession. It’s a human endeavour, and it’s human nature. Control does not exist of nature. Control exists of understanding nature. Using everything according to its nature. Control is human nature, but control was never to deny other parts of our nature.

We serve the enemy. In controlling the enemy, in betraying ourselves we perpetuate the evils we seek to try to avoid. We try and try. Try = deny.

“The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours – it is an amazing journey – and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.” Bob Moawad

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm center. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale

Human Obsession

Control is a human obsession. It’s a human endeavour, and it’s human nature. Control is very poorly understood at best. Control is how we kill ourselves. Control is what we do when we kill pain. Control is what we do when we kill time. Control is what we do when we medicate the mentally unfit. Control is undertaken without sufficient understanding of what is being controlled, without proper identification, without understanding of the nature of the thing you would control, even self. Then the consequences are disastrous. If you insist that your car is a boat, what will happen? The… Seek More

Manifestation and the Self

There is a lot of popularity to the concept of manifestation, but it is poorly understood. It is like telling people to think of pink bunnies though nothing motivates them to think of pink bunnies. Expressed in the way they do, it has little power because it sees only part of the nature of what it presumes to control. We don’t manifest negativity only because we don’t know better. We don’t express these negative things only because we have been conditioned. I think a lot of people manifest negativity, and they manifest negativity because of their idea of control. They… Seek More

Everything Exists

People argue the relativity of truth, or the nature of absolute truth. The paradox is that all truth is relative so none of it is. It behaves like truth and this relative truth is very here and now. It is in this reality so the ‘nothing matters’ crowd is wrong, and the ‘everything needs to be a machine’ crowd is wrong. These people keep themselves locked in their views, and both have their own complaints about reality for the very simple reason that they deny their own reality. In both extremes they overlook the heart of the question. Sounds like… Seek More

One Vibration

If you are fascinated with the astral plane, this is where you lose control because you set it apart. You see it as special, and disempowered yourself from dealing with it. When you set it apart you blind yourself, and many people do. They don’t want to engage. They want a fantasy story. They want to be amazed by the astral plane and then go back to their previous reality. Then wonder why it seems unreal. The only unreality is in the human mind and it’s artificial. Created by us and without understanding. You see the astral as just another… Seek More

Idea of Control

Control is human obsession and human nature. The idea of control that most people embrace is also a delusion. We control to keep things static. We control in denial of what is available to us. We abstain from embracing the now because it would deny us control. In denying the reality of our perception, we deny ourselves our own power. We seek power we do not and cannot have, because in fact it doesn’t exist. We seek power over others to control their perception and thus their behaviour. That can be achieved at a shallow level, but it doesn’t have power by… Seek More

Try and Deny

Control is human nature, but control was never to deny other parts of our nature. Self denial is slow and pointless suicide. Control exists as part of our nature to let our thought guide our fulfillment, and our fulfillment arises only from inner nature. If we ignore inner nature in favour of another definition in the name of an unnatural concept of control, we loose control of even the things we value because we make them something to achieve. Even in the words of Jesus when he was spoken of as a good man, he asked why that person called… Seek More

No Satan

There is no Satan necessary. You are your own Satan. In old catholic terms, the demons that run the pits of torment are called the kindly ones. People think they are on their own side by being in control, doing what they choose to do, by getting what they think they want. We are our own kindly ones. There is a reason they say beware what you wish for. It is an old Sufi curse, may your every wish be immediately fulfilled. Can you imagine the suffering? We don’t understand what we seek to control, ourselves. So in lacking understanding,… Seek More

Releasing Control

Control is a good topic. Are you dealing with control issues? Yours or another’s? I’m trying to shed it in this life. I have controlled all feelings so I wouldn’t get hurt. It’s time to free it. Ah, so working on ending self suppression? A deeper realisation of control can help. Knowing what you want control of, and why you want control or no longer want to control. For myself, I follow a sort of organic view. The emotion or state of being has meaning beyond objective analysis. When you first move to objectify the emotion, you disconnect from your… Seek More

Accepting Emotion

The secret of healing rage is neither repression or guilt. There can only be true healing with understanding. Rage is a language in the world. In a world of conflict and aggression, rage is a response to a world that can turn against you at will. Like anything else, rage has a dynamic of statement and response, action and reaction, and you can’t disconnect from rage. Your mind will still know that what started you on that path is still there, but you can’t find a way around a building if you resist the reality of doors. To go with… Seek More
