Do you just say ‘thank you’, or are you grateful? There is a difference. Live a life of gratitude and feel faith and love. Gratitude can guide us to right action. There are difficulties and problems in life. Accept them and fully understand life. The face of gratitude shines.
If you would choose a focus for contemplation, for meditation, find gratitude in your heart. You could spend your life with it to much healing and benefit for you and others.
“Gratitude is a fruit of great cultivation; you do not find it among gross people” Samuel Johnson
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” William Arthur Ward (American dedicated scholar, author, editor, pastor and teacher)
“When you are grateful fear disappears and abundance appears” Anthony Robbins (American advisor to leaders)
What is Gratitude?
I think the idea of gratitude is for the most part misunderstood. It is often seen as a humiliation. But if you think about it, there is nothing more ennobling. When you are in the experience of gratitude, you are in peace. You are in the present. When you cannot rest in the now, gratitude for that moment is absent. And when gratitude is absent, then growth is absent. Plants grow in receptiveness to sunlight. If they somehow decided that sunlight wasn’t enough, the hypothetical unrest would only sicken them. It would stymie growth, not feed it. We as human… Seek More
Gratitude is …
There is a simpler word for gratitude, but the word is generally seen in a more abstract light. Gratitude is love. We didn’t make ourselves. We are not the source of our own advent. We still exist due to a process that we can’t really control and we don’t need to. Gratitude is faith, present centered faith. People struggle with the idea of faith. They think it means they hope for something in the future. Faith can be right now. It can give you peace right now. Research into performance psychology suggests that we do not do our best when… Seek More
Life of Gratitude
Imagine a life of gratitude? For what we are. For what we can do. For what we can experience. Would that be a selfish life? Why are we taught it is? Really, the secret of gratitude isn’t a secret. It’s realizing a simple truth. We are connected, not chained. Supported. We are connected by genetic heritage. We are connected by our place in our eco-system. Even our society, though it seems to struggle against these core truths. Any ideas why? I think it’s because obligation is control. Fear? Fear is temporary loss of connection. Yes, it seems enduring. Mostly because… Seek More
Grateful For Change
Gratitude is an often misunderstood attitude. It is implying the “neediness” of the recipient, in many peoples minds. Gratitude is sort of an awkward english word. Gratitude really could be considered present centered love. It has countless objects, but I am not certain it really needs any object. Gratitude is a necessary state of peace with the flow of life. We tend to be in one of two broad categories of state, gratitude or resentment. Resistance. It’s my experience that resistance gives you nothing but more things to resist. I know I have resisted much in my life. Attachment =… Seek More
Nature Just Lives
All is ok? All is balanced? Oh, all balances. It is balanced unless we resist, and we resist a lot. It is balanced no matter what we do? That is true. By itself it is. But from the individual point of view, it can seem not to be. But with resistance the balance will be painful for us? Yes. Like trying to hold a waterfall off your head with your bare hands with all the muscle you have, lots of struggle, and nothing else. Resistance is important for growth? Change is important for growth. Resistance can be a part of… Seek More
Life Is Spiritual
At this moment I see ego as eternal. Self is eternal. The atman is eternal. Atman = microcosm. It’s us. We are the image of the source. Universal consciousness? Consciousness is universal. Gratitude is harmony with universal consciousness. I meditate, but in the back of my mind I still think, “Oh dear, all those people who don’t really know about spirituality.” I don’t. My concern is with what I do. You don’t have to be better. You don’t meditate to be better. You don’t live the spiritual life to be better. You live the spiritual life because it’s life. Life… Seek More
Attachment vs. Connection
Who is free of all attachments? I am not free of connections, but in your thinking, I am free of attachments. I officially have no role. My life is very humble. It is not bad. I do not suffer from these facts. When I suffer is when I think that these attachments, these roles, define meaning or my self worth. I am existing in what people would call a void, and what would make that hell is not the void itself, but bigotry, prejudice, mine or another’s. People try to reach me. Some come to me in peace and for… Seek More
