'Parenting' Articles

I explore the spiritual forces behind parenting, and not actually try to teach people how to parent. Each child is a unique soul, but they start anew in connecting. When you parent this little soul you are parenting yourself as much as them. The child is already in Gods image, but we are busy making them sons and daughters of man. They are an individual, treat them as such.

“No matter how calmly you try to referee, parenting will eventually produce bizarre behavior, and I’m not talking about the kids. Their behavior is always normal.” Bill Cosby (American Actor, Comedian and Producer. b.1937)

“Nothing has a stronger influence psychologically on their environment, and especially on their children, than the unlived lives of the parents” Carl Gustav Jung (Swiss psychiatrist, Psychologist and Founder of the Analytic Psychology, 1875-1961)

Beginning Dynamic

What does it mean to be a guardian of an innocent? A guide to a newly born mind? In this day and age it seems many people just follow the “expected” life.  Get a job, get married, have kids, and their role as parent seems to be more the acting out of an idea. Just doing what they expect they are supposed to as a parent. This seem untrue? Planned parenthood or doing what they remember their own parents did.  Yes. If that is your view does the level of engagement seem very full? Each child is a unique soul,… Seek More

Growing Up

To quote Kahlil Gibran about raising children: “Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them… Seek More

Parenting Skill

The first skill a parent needs, and it’s instinctive but we shun it as the infant matures, is simple listening. Is the baby crying? Are they hungry, scared, lonely? Why is this wrong for us to use with ourselves or out intimates? If we kept that listening, would there be neglected seniors? Would we be so eager to backstab another because “It’s all about me”? My crying made my parents feel bad so I stopped. That was messed up, it shouldn’t have been about them. *nods in hearty agreement*  What would Jesus do? Well, he apparently was quite attractive to… Seek More

Primal Relationship

I intend to discuss the spiritual facets of parenting. How many of you are parents? But no, it’s not necessary to be a parent to gain from this. We are all involved in parenting. We were parented in one form or another, and some of us are parenting. It’s perhaps one of the most primal relationships we have, more so than even that with your mate, and it leaves an impression on us that can last a life time. What does it mean to be entrusted with a new little life? We have the teachings we are given. Even some… Seek More

Real Authority

Are you the real authority on you? Is anyone here the real authority on themselves, or is that discouraged? Are you busy “playing house” or rather “playing life”? Are you happy? Most parents say they want their children to grow up happy and busily deny happiness, because it isn’t responsible. I acknowledge being response able. I am able to respond to anything in my life, and sometimes I can even initiate. If I did what I wanted it would be called immature, not thinking of anyone else but me? When I am thinking of myself, I often buy a gift… Seek More

Be the Guide

I have zillions of questions about parenting. You are the seeking child. You are the loving little boy or girl. You just need to help the child out of the whole. You were good and learned what you were taught. Now be good to yourself.  Be the guide you didn’t have to yourself and anyone who needs you. Is there any reason not to? It is difficult when a child decides to play human games.  It’s hard to let go, but at the end of the day there is no judgement. You support and be there. Yes, and you can’t… Seek More
