'Social Dynamic' Articles
Unity is not preserved by blurring duality. Duality exists as a natural linkage. In a sense you are everything, but you don’t have to do it. You are everything because you are a part of everything, but my toes are not my fingers. Our nature is to express a part. Our conditioning to ideas about who we are, ideas about who anyone else is, totally ignore recognition. Maybe life itself is its own purpose and its own potential, and our only ‘should’ is what we are already doing. Just be you.
“Unity can only be manifested by the Binary. Unity itself and the idea of Unity are already two.” Buddha (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)
“At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.” Friedrich Nietzsche (German classical Scholar, Philosopher and Critic of culture, 1844-1900.)
Yin and Yang
All of nature, human and otherwise, observes a pattern and observable duality. Some decry this as human ignorance, but I will offer a different view. Consider the Chinese symbol yin and yang. Some see it as a symbol of duality, and don’t go much further with it. But I find it the simplest most direct way of explaining the seeming paradox of duality versus unity. For one, it isn’t just two seemingly opposed fields of all black and all white is it? The two fields form a circle, and this is deliberate. A square suggests structure and unitization does it… Seek More
Natural Difference
People have just not learnt to accept the different, and when you accept the different then what happens to the designation of “different”? Does it still bear emotional weight when you’re ok with it? Dr Phil was talking about controlling behaviours in spouses, and when someone says my husband always does this or never does that, he said there is no person that always or never does something or nothing. Yes, so an example is aggressive people. We often deride them as bullies. We think they are maybe psycho, but in fact who are the truly supportive people? Those who… Seek More
Reflection
One thing about some religions is they require submission to the male, the husband. This was one reason I couldn’t stay in that culture. There are cultures, though more rare, that were matriarchies. Yes, it seems like these codifications happen. To address the issue of codification there is cognition and there is recognition. Cognition can be totally arbitrary. Cognition = thought. I knew a salesman. He lived and breathed his work, and expressed that by determining which kind of person someone is. That is how he got sales. Yes, and he was right, nor was he being unethical necessarily. Recognition… Seek More
Two Worlds
Is there unity in denying duality? In a sense you are everything, but you don’t have to do it. You are everything because you are a part of everything, but my toes are not my fingers. Our nature is to express a part. There is a lot of emphasis on unity in spiritual circles these days. They seem to feel that by blurring duality conceptually that they will find unity, but our world is inherently unified and dual. No amount of crying “ego” changes the natural order. Your sense of I, the natural sense of self, isn’t ego at all.… Seek More
Know By Realization
In the yin and yang symbol though it acknowledged duality and there is clearly a dark half and a light half, is it not a circle? And the circles in the two sides. At the heart of yin, yang. The heart of yang, yin. In Native American cultures they had young men who wanted to do female work. Can you guess what they did in the young men’s case? I’m guessing they didn’t force a gun on them like we do? They didn’t. They acknowledge that spirits can be different, and this young man who wanted to be that, was… Seek More
Accept Diversity
We won’t see unity in the world until diversity is accepted. We won’t have unity by blurring and denying duality. We won’t create enlightenment by declaring we know better than our senses, like we were some self stamped coin that we are trading in for a better bill. We are one because we are part of this. I am me, and you are you, but we are here and duality is fine. My toes aren’t my fingers, but I’m still me. It’s no sin to realize yourself. It is even adopted in street lingo ”Keeping it real“. Is anyone keeping… Seek More
